Good Evening Family and Friends,

We waited for as long as we could before having to decide to postpone our upcoming family reunion. After combining our online and offline registrations, we determined that the final count does not properly represent both sides of our families (Allgood and Vanzant) combined. Our last family reunion registered over two hundred people combined. We used that count as a guiding marker for this family reunion. Though we know everyone will not be able to attend, we still want to make sure that both families are properly represented, because we are family. The Allgood-Vanzant family history of family reunions dates back a century, and possibly more. As one family, we must keep this heritage alive and well. 

We are not in any way discouraged, and we are thankful for those that registered online and offline. We will regroup by expanding our footprint as we seek more volunteers to serve on our family reunion committee. Our goal is to have family members representing each side of the family from every city/state where there is a large concentration of family members. Smaller areas of family concentration are also welcome to be on the committee as well. If you would like to volunteer to become a committee member, please reply to this email with your name, phone number, address, and which side of the family you represent.

Prior to the COVId-19 Pandemic we had gotten back into the swing of conducting our family reunion every other year on the 3rd weekend of July. We are confident that we will have time to regroup and enjoy a big family reunion for 2025. What's most important is that our family reunions continue and that the younger generation will step up and make sure such an important family tradition carries on.

We look forward to reaching out to family members of the course of the next few weeks, and welcome any family member to be a part of this great work. We will update the family again soon.
